Coffee and it’s Benefits on the Skin

Coffee and it’s Benefits on the Skin

Coffee is not only great to drink, it also has many great benefits if applied to the skin.

A coffee bean contains:

Caffeine - which is defined as a crystalline compound that is found in tea and coffee plants and is a stimulant of the the central nervous system.

Antioxidants - which protects cells from radical damage. Chlorogenic acids (CGA’s) which are pophenol antioxidants.

Melanoidins - anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Diterpenes - cafestol and kanweol which are natural oils in coffee beans.

Those are the main ingredients, but there are many other antioxidants in a coffee bean.

Coffee contains more antioxidants than red wine and green and black teas.

When using it on the skin it can aid in reducing cellulite, reduce the appearance of eye puffiness, help to improve blood flow, lessen the appearance of stretch marks, pH balances skin, exfoliates, improve skin tone, unclog pores, treat acne, calm the skin, and brighten the skin.

Coffee scrubs should always be applied to damp skin. It is safe to be applied daily as an eye cream or a mask.
