Profhilo Treatment
One of the reasons I’m so intrigued about Profhilo (non-surgical skin laxity treatment) is that it a non-surgical face lift using 100% hyaluronic acid. Our bodies naturally produce Hyaluronic Acid, but as we get older it starts to deplete. It is made up of ultra pure natural HA and is stabilized without needing any added ingredients (crossed linked agents).
Hyaluronic Acid is a sugar molecule that keeps our skin tissues cushioned and lubricated. It can hold up 1,000 times it’s weight in water. Which is essentially like a magnet to bind moisture to our skin. You can apply it to skin topically, but will achieve better results when injected.
It is good for skin, joints and connective tissue. The benefits received from HA is that it encourages cell renewal, which will help with loss of firmness and will plump the skin.
Profhilo is a bio remodeling inject-able which will smooth and tighten the skin. It is made up of low and high weight hyaluronic acid. It counteracts the physiological reduction of HA in the skin. It’s injected into the upper layers of the skin to provide hydration. No allergy test is needed because it naturally breaks down in the skin.
It stimulates collagen production naturally, improves tissue quality, as well as, provides hydration that will nourish dermal cells and restore firmness to the skin.
Profhilo should only be used to treat the lower parts of the face, not to be used for the forehead. The treatment will tighten and lift the skin, help diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin tone and texture while delivering hydration to the skin. It can plump skin to treat lip lines and eye wrinkles and has great results for the neck.
Profhilo is injected in 2 treatments within 4 week intervals (2 ml each equaling 4 ml). The procedure takes about 5 minutes and can make you look 5 years younger. Commonly, it is done between the cheek and chin to tighten skin and lift the jowls. Most people see results in about 8 weeks.
It can last up to six months, but may differ with everyone. It may cause redness, pain, itching and tenderness at the injection sight.
Profhilo treatment is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding or for anyone that is hypersensitive to Hyaluronic Acid.
The average cost in the UK is 300 pounds ($375) per treatment (2 ml).
Currently, the treatment is being offered in the UK. Hopefully it will be available in the United States soon!
